Emet Global Theological Seminary and College believes that Christian education is a very important endeavor. It is an investment that takes time and money. Therefore, those who are involved in this endeavor needs the assurance that this investment will be beneficial and recognized. While private accrediting agencies are not recognized by the federal government and are unable to offer special privileges to their college membership, they do provide accountability at a doctrinal and academic level.
Government accreditation for religious institutions is not required by law. Accreditation is a voluntary and costly process. Government accreditation, while may be beneficial to some institutions of higher learning, is not always the best choice for religious educational institutions. Because we want to keep our tuition at an affordable cost, we have elected not to be governed by the U.S. Department of Education and do not seek Regional Accreditation. Additionally, Government accreditation does not support Emet’s goals and vision at this time.
