FAQ

What are EMET’s Academic Credentials?

Emet Global Theological Seminary and College is...

- An Accredited CTI Affiliate Chaplaincy Training Institution

- Accredited by Theological Accreditation International

Emet believes that Christian education is a very important endeavor. It is an investment that takes time and money. Therefore, those who are involved in this endeavor needs the assurance that this investment will be beneficial and recognized. While private accrediting agencies are not recognized by the federal government and are unable to offer special privileges to their college membership, they do provide accountability at a doctrinal and academic level.

Government accreditation for religious institutions is not required by law. Accreditation is a voluntary and costly process. Government accreditation, while may be beneficial to some institutions of higher learning, is not always the best choice for religious educational institutions. Because we want to keep our tuition at an affordable cost, we have elected not to be governed by the U.S. Department of Education and do not seek Regional Accreditation. Additionally, Government accreditation does not support Emet’s goals and vision at this time.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO APPLY TO EMET?

The application process for courses offered are completely free. EMET currently requires no fees for applying to the programs.

CAN I RECEIVE CREDIT FOR PREVIOUS COLLEGE AND SEMINARY TRAINING OR FOR MINISTRY EXPERIENCE?

EMET works closely with the student to make transfer of credits into EMET possible in many cases. While a certain number of courses must be completed through EMET for each degree program, transfer credits can often be accepted, especially at the undergraduate level. We can also work with the student to avoid a repeat of course(s) already taken at an EMET approved institution. Substitutions will be made in such cases where allowed or recommended by EMET’s Academic Review Committee.

Lifetime credit for ministry experience is possible at the undergraduate level. In certain circumstances, up to 30 semester credits may be awarded for the well-qualified Christian worker and pastor.
